How to Update Steam Based Servers

Updating games that use SteamCMD is easy using the AleForge Panel. Here is how you can update your server

  1. Go to the AleForge Panel
  2. Stop your server
  3. Create a backup
  4. Check the Startup tab make sure Check For Updates is enabled
  5. Start the server. It will check for an update on boot.

If needed you can force validation of steam update by clearing the steam cache. To accomplish this delete the steamapps folder from the file manager. It is at the root of your server.

We always recommend creating a backup prior to performing any updates.
