How do I upload my map data to my ARK: Survival Evolved server?

If you are migrating between hosts, it’s useful to know how to upload your map data to another ARK: Survival Evolved server. Here’s how you can do that.

Uploading your World

Using Blacksmith’s Portal

  1. Find the location of your map data. By default, ARK stores it within its server files here ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks
  2. Once found, zip up SavedArks as this contains your map data and any player data
  3. Open the Blacksmith’s Portal
  4. Stop your server
  5. Go to Files and drag and drop your zipped up save file to ShooterGame/Saved
  6. If the total size of the folder is greater than 1GB, you’ll need to use SFTP to upload the zip file (link to SFTP)
  7. Once uploaded, right click your uploaded file and select Unarchive
  8. Start your server

Self-Hosting/Other Providers

  1. Find the location of your map data. By default, ARK stores it within its server files here ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks
  2. Zip up the folder.
  3. Locate where your servers files are installed
  4. Stop your server
  5. Drag and drop your zipped up world file to ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks
  6. Unzip your world file
  7. Start your server
